SWEET GRASS & CEDAR
Sweet grass and Cedar are two of the main plants used by Native people along with Sage and Tobacco. Sweet grass is the sacred hair of a prayer or ceremony for smudging and purification of the spirit. Cedar, a resinous aromatic tree is also used for cleansing rituals and healing rites.
Native peoples or North America burn Cedar while praying and its smoke is said to attract the good spirits and eliminate negative energies.
